About the instrument.
The “Elegancy” project was conceived as a portable version of an electric guitar with minimal dimensions, but with a 648-mm scale length. The guitar also had to fit in a gun case (customer’s wish).
To make the most compact instrument with such a scale, it was decided to make a “headless” version.
Another condition of the customer was that the instrument should be able to stand upright.
The sketch was drawn based on the tasks and conditions specified. To be able to balance the guitar while sitting, a leg rest was necessary. The standard Steinberger leg rest wouldn’t work, so I had to develop my own designs with the possibility of removal.
The result is a compact, elegant, portable instrument that fits in a 74cm-long gun case.
